Paro-Thimpu Tour - Trip Overview

ITINERARY

After completion of all the custom and immigration formalities, you will be welcomed by our representative and then you will have to drive to Thimpu. The duration of the drive will be around one and a half hour after which you will to the place known as Thimpu. After getting fresh in the hotel, you will be taken by our guide to visit the National Library. Where you can find some of the priceless collection of the Buddhist manuscript and other than that you can also find some of the English version of it.

Moreover, you can also see the Majestic Tashichhodzong which is nothing other than the houses and office for the king and its ministers. You can also see the traditional handmade paper factory, National Handicraft Emporium and the painting school. In the evening you must enjoy a walk in the Thimphu region. After that, you need to spend your night in the hotel only, so that you can feel fresh for tomorrow’s tour plan. At this place, you can also visit the Bhutanese Late King’s Memorial stupa.

No sooner you complete your breakfast, you will have to be ready for the next day tour. On this day, at first, we will have to trek to the Takstang/Tiger’s lair monastery which is at an altitude of nine hundred meters. The monastery is situated at the sheer cliff and so sometimes it becomes difficult for the traveller to climb. Besides, if you are not fit and if you want then with the help of your guide you can also arrange the horse/pony for the ride. The ride will be there for the uphill till the cafeteria and after which you will have to walk. Henceforth, you will have to drive to Paro.

You might not be aware of the fact that the Taktshang Pelphung monastery got a major fire which destroyed the main structure of the building and its contents in the year 1998. Most of them believe that it was arson. After that reconstruction was started in the year 2000 and was also completed after extensive effort as well as the financial support of the Governments and the donors.

On the next day, you will be served with the breakfast at the hotel itself. After the completion of the breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport. Prior to that, you will be bid farewell by our team and the guide, who was working to make your trip a memorable one.
